I hate when people say the all shit we play at Bboy jams is "Funk And Soul." We play breaks in music, which encompasses a lot more than those two (although very wide) genres of music. Many people would be surprised that a lot of breaks are say, some flavor of Rock. You don't hear people say "man, you should play more rock, I want that hard ish!" The point is, there are tons and tons of genres which I and many other Break DJ's play from Funk and Soul, to Jazz, Gospel, Latin, Rock, and cross overs of all of the mentioned and more. You really never know what you might find! And that is the point on why real DJ's stay digging! Don't just play all the new funk band stuff (Bamboos, Laura Vane & The Vipertones, etc), sure it's dope, but c'mon man, dig a little bit deeper...
